Blake Lively and Her #SisterHusbands Are Giving Us Friendship Goals

Like most of us, Blake Lively rang in the new year with her friends by her side. But unlike most of us, these friends happened to be Lively's long-time best buds, former co-stars and, according to her hashtag, #sisterhusbands.

If you've ever spent time on Lively's Instagram (cough, guilty) you probably know the bond she has with her The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants co-stars Amber Tamblyn, America Ferrera and Alexis Bledel. Ever since starring in the film together 11-and-a-half years ago, the four friends have stayed close. Through marriages, babies and Hillary Clinton campaigning (thanks, Ferrera and Tamblyn!), they value each other above all else.

And they make it known.

On New Year's Eve, Lively and Tamblyn were together when they decided to FaceTime Ferrera (Bledel was absent from the love-fest, but she is mentioned in the photo).

Lively documented the chat on Instagram, and shared a sweet message to her friends any of us can apply to our own.

"Love your pals, love yourself," Lively writes.

The quote comes from their film, but it's also a message we can all take on board. No matter the distance or amount of time that passes between seeing each other, Lively, Tamblyn, Ferrera and Bledel always make the effort a friendship requires.

And that's really it, isn't it?

A friendship requires work. And sacrifice. And time. It's just like a relationship in so many ways. And when all of those things happen on all sides of the friendship, you get what Lively and her #sisterhusbands have: love.

It may be a few days late, but we're taking our New Year's resolution from Lively's life. In 2017, it's going to be all about investing time in our friends and loving ourselves.

It sounds like the perfect combination, if you ask us.
