Homemade Gifts People Actually Want: How to Make a Bath Bomb

Homemade gifts are a risky task to take on.

On one hand, they can save you lots of money, you can customize them for other people, and everyone appreciates when your gift shows a little extra love and attention. On the other hand, homemade gifts don't always end up the way we want them to.

Pinterest fails are far too common, for one thing. And even if you gift comes out great, how often is it actually something people want? The world doesn't need any more jars full of hot chocolate mix, or safety-pin-bead baskets. So here's how to make homemade gifts people actually want. This time, in the form of these Lush-like bath bombs.

What you need:

8 oz. of baking soda
4 oz. of citric acid
4 oz. of Epsom salts
¾ tsp. of water
2 tsp. essential oil
1 tsp coconut oil
A few drops of food coloring
Round, plastic molds (we used plastic ornaments domes, but you can get creative with this)
A bowl and cup for mixing

What to do:

1. Combine the dry ingredients.

2. Combine wet ingredients, a spoonful at a time.

3. Mix together.

4. Pack the mixture into molds.

5. Let it dry (anywhere between 3—5 hours, or just leave the molds overnight if you want to play it safe).

And there you go. Pamper points: done.
