Senator Elizabeth Warren Calls for Jeff Sessions' Resignation

Senator Elizabeth Warren (D., MA) has officially called for the resignation of Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

Sessions allegedly met with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak twice, yet denied any contact with Russia when asked during his confirmation hearings.

Warren is demanding an investigation of the White House's ties to Russia and for Sessions' resignation.

Senator Warren posted a series of tweets laying out her demands, urging:

"This is not normal. This is not fake news. This is a very real & serious threat to the national security of the United States."

She went on to formally call for his resignation:

"We need Attorney General Jeff Sessions—who should have never been confirmed in the first place—to resign."

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi(D., CA) and other Democrats have also called on Sessions to resign.
