This Is Why You Should Never Propose in Front of a Waterfall

In theory, a waterfall sounds like a pretty romantic idea for a proposal. In reality, it's extremely hazardous.

A video uploaded to Imgur shows a man proposing to his girlfriend in front of a waterfall. It gets off to a great start: he gets down on one knee, she covers her mouth in shock, all the usual stuff.

But then—disaster.

When he tries to reach out to her with the engagement ring, it's washed away by the gushing waterfall.

Yep. Oh dear.

Understandably, the proposal takes a slight pause. But after spending a few seconds looking for it, the man gets on with the task at hand.

The best part? She says yes, despite the ring. Which is why the video has gone viral (it's been viewed over 93,000 times).

Comments on the post are pretty disparaging, with plenty of puns:

“Omg that’s awful. He was dumb for taking it out there, and he’s lucky she’s such a sweet girl.”

"Water you THINKING?”

“Money spent down the drain, or should I say, falls.”

But mostly, people loved it. It shows just how unimportant a ring is when it comes to getting engaged. And yes, it's also very funny.
