Don't Worry, President Donald Trump Now Understands Women

As Women's History Month draws to a close, the President is doing his best to show women he really understands them.

On Wednesday, after First Lady Melania Trump gave the keynote address at the 2017 Secretary of State's International Women of Courage Awards, White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer informed the press that the "President made women’s empowerment a priority throughout the campaign."

Sure.

Later that afternoon, the President attended a women's empowerment panel and asked whether any of the women in attendance had ever heard of Susan B. Anthony.

The man gets us.

On March 30, the Senate voted to repeal a rule that prevented states from withholding Title X family-planning money from healthcare providers that offer abortion. Vice President Mike Pence kindly provided the tie-breaking vote that passed the measure, which allows states to defund Planned Parenthood, 51—50.

Hmm, that doesn't seem very good for women.

Perhaps sensing that some of the group he once said he could grab by the pussy—you know, women—might not like his administration's vote, the President decided to release a 40-second edited-together video from Wednesday's women's empowerment event on his Instagram.

President Trump knows what women really need to feel appreciated: him saying a few nice things, intercut with images of some really pretty flowers.

Yay!

He does have our best interests at heart.

He called women "titans"! He wants us to reach our full potential!

Sure, our full potential in his eyes might be a Stepford Wife. But hey, remember when he called us titans? That was pretty cool, right?

Thankfully, boring old Women's History Month ends today. Heads up, Mr. President, April National Sexual Assault Awareness Month. You might want to mark your calendar.
